Environmental
Our pledge is to ensure all new construction will be assessed using the Circular Economy Building Assessment – a tool to facilitate design for disassembly.
We will apply the principles of environmental stewardship throughout our operations by managing our sites to ensure land remains of value; implementing biodiversity gain and safeguarding geodiversity where appropriate and possible.
For our Environmental pledges as part of The Ward Way sustainability road map to 2030 we are focusing on several themes:
Environmental awareness and training
- We will proactively share environmental performance data and information with the whole business wide via Teams and our internal newsletter to ensure that all employees are aware and understand what we are doing and why
- Biannually, 100% of employees to receive an environmental awareness session
Increasing biodiversity across our sites
Although waste management sites aren’t generally full of flora and fauna, we will endeavour to look for opportunities to increase planting around our sites, working towards zero net loss of biodiversity.
Zero self-generated waste to landfill
- We aim to segregate and recycle all office and site waste materials
- When carrying out off site work best practice procedures will be applied
